Support that meets you where you are.

Ability Community Supports helps people build independence through hands-on daily support, positive behavior strategies, and steady guidance through guardianship processes — for participants, families, and the coordinators who work alongside them.

Three ways we show up

Every support plan is different. Here's where we focus, and how each piece fits into daily life.

Service 01

Core Supports

Core supports cover the everyday help that keeps life moving — assistance built around the person, not the other way around. We work with participants to build routines that grow independence over time, not dependence on us.

  • Daily living assistanceHelp with personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and the everyday routines that make a home run smoothly.
  • Community accessSupport to get out and take part — appointments, errands, social activities, and community events, at a pace that works for the participant.
  • Routine & consistencySupport workers who show up reliably and get to know each participant's preferences, not just their plan.
  • Family peace of mindRegular communication with families and carers so everyone stays informed and involved.
Service 02

Standalone Behavior Supports

Some participants need focused behavior support without a full core supports package — and that's exactly what this service is for. We work directly with the participant and their circle of support to build strategies that reduce distress and build skills.

  • Positive behavior strategiesPractical, individualised approaches focused on understanding behavior and building on strengths.
  • Works alongside existing supportsDesigned to complement other services a participant already has in place, without duplicating them.
  • Collaboration with carers & staffPractical guidance for the people around the participant, so strategies carry through everyday life.
  • Progress you can seeClear, honest updates on what's working and what needs to change.
Service 03

Guardianship Assistance

Guardianship processes can feel overwhelming to navigate alone. We provide steady, practical support to individuals and families working through these matters — including guidance for those representing themselves.

  • Process guidanceHelp understanding what's ahead, what's needed, and what to expect at each stage.
  • Self-representation supportPractical assistance for individuals and families choosing to represent themselves through the process.
  • Document preparation helpSupport organizing and preparing the paperwork guardianship matters require.
  • A steady point of contactOne consistent person to ask questions along the way, so families aren't figuring it out alone.

Our Approach

Support built around the person, not the paperwork

Ability Community Supports was built on a simple idea: people do better when their support fits their life, not the other way around. We take the time to understand each participant's goals, routines, and preferences before we ever put a plan in place.

Whether it's daily living support, focused behavior strategies, or guidance through a guardianship process, our approach stays the same — show up consistently, communicate clearly, and treat every person with the dignity they deserve.

Person-centred Consistent Transparent Community-focused

"Independence isn't something we give people — it's something we help them build."
